TL;DR

  • Google has initiated a new Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
  • The program covers a limited subset of Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL devices experiencing vertical display lines or screen flickering.
  • Eligible devices can receive free display replacements for up to three years from the original retail purchase date.

Google has unveiled an Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL after confirming that a small number of units are affected by display problems. According to Google, devices that exhibit a vertical line running from bottom to top across the screen or screen flicker may qualify for complimentary repairs under this program.

The policy offers free display replacements for eligible devices for up to three years from the date of their original retail purchase. Eligibility hinges on inspection and verification by an approved repair center to confirm the reported issues on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Not all Pixel 9 Pro or Pro XL units will qualify for the Extended Repair Program. Google specifies that devices with cracked screens, damaged cover glass, or signs of liquid intrusion are excluded from screen replacements under this program. If a device does not meet the criteria, customers can still pursue standard warranty coverage (if applicable) or pay for out-of-warranty repairs.

The Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL is now active. Repairs can be arranged through Google walk-in centers, authorized service partners, or online repair options. Any repairs performed under this program come with a 90-day warranty.
