Imran's deteriorating health has been attributed to the government's neglect, according to his legal team, who have also asserted that he has lost most of the vision in his right eye due to an infection. This has sparked calls from fellow cricketers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis for Imran to receive proper medical attention, with the latter emphasizing the irony of Imran's plight given his contributions to cancer hospital fundraising. Shoaib Akhtar, a fellow cricketer, has also expressed his concern and called for Imran's speedy recovery. The calls for support have extended beyond Pakistan, with former Indian batter Ajay Jadeja urging Pakistan's cricketers to show solidarity with Imran.
