Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance: A Busy Christmas and a Year of Vital Missions
The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) service experienced a surge in call-outs during the festive season, highlighting the critical role of air ambulance services in the community. From December 23rd to January 1st, 2026, the crew responded to 55 emergencies, a significant increase from the 35 missions undertaken during the same period in 2024.
This surge in activity underscores the essential nature of the air ambulance service, according to Chief Executive Karen Jobling. She praised the crew's dedication, stating, 'They worked tirelessly, responding to emergencies while many were enjoying the holidays at home.'
Of the 55 call-outs, 29 were medical emergencies, and 9 were related to road traffic collisions. The busiest day for the crew was December 29th, with 13 missions, demonstrating the high demand for their services during the festive period.
Looking ahead, the charity aims to enhance its operations. In February 2026, new critical care cars will be introduced, and fundraising efforts will intensify in anticipation of a second helicopter landing in 2027. The charity's reliance on donations is evident, with operations costing millions annually.
